Kerrytown offered a special Mother’s Day gift: candid portraits taken by me! I roved around the market, camera in hand, for 3 hours in search of moms with kids — they were plentiful! The weather was perfect, and the light at the Farmers’ Market was unbeatable. (Looking for a colorful and uncommon location for a session? The Farmers’ Market is one of my favorite places to shoot.)
While several families knew I was going to be there (Kerrytown made a colorful Ann Arbor Observer ad and a poster), most of the moms were happy to have their portrait taken on the spot. I imagine that some of these moms are the designated photographer for their family (like I am) and don’t show up in their photo albums much (like I don’t).
A few weeks later, on June 2, more than 120 photos were displayed free for the taking, on the 2nd floor opposite Mathilde’s Imports and Encore Studio.
